Windward Oʻahu Economic Leaders Hui
In 2024, Hawaii Workforce Pipeline, in partnership with the Harold K. L. Castle Foundation, convened the largest employers and educational leaders from the Department of Education and post-secondary institutions in the Windward region of Oʻahu, including both Koʻolauloa and Koʻolaupoko. Our goal was to bring these key stakeholders together to discuss shared priorities in workforce development and career-connected learning.
One of the first accomplishments was the creation of a workforce analysis of the Windward Oʻahu region, the first report of its kind. You can access this document free of charge using the link below.
Career Awareness Videos
Utilizing the Windward Oʻahu Workforce Analysis and in partnership with the members of our Windward Economic Leaders Group, we identified several recommendations to strengthen workforce outcomes for our region of Oʻahu (see pages 44 and 45 of the report). One key recommendation is the creation of career awareness opportunities. Ensuring that students and job seekers are informed about available jobs in the region, along with details on pay, benefits, and career advancement, is essential for recruiting and retaining talent.
These opportunities can be introduced through school events, work-based learning activities, community engagement, and more traditional marketing and promotional strategies. Below, you will find a selection of videos from some of our largest employers, highlighting the strong job opportunities currently available. For those living in Windward Oʻahu, there is no need to travel outside the region to find meaningful work—you may be able to build a rewarding career closer to home.
